Kicking off the project with the client's brief

Take a look at band logos and you'll see that they are as varied as the music itself. In this project, my client is a Brooklyn-based indie rock band called Shy Hunters. They've been around since 2011. Here's some information about them. Their influences, adjectives they use to describe themselves, the kind of aesthetic that they're drawn to, styles they particularly want me to avoid and some links. Specifically, a link to their Bandcamp page where you can listen to a couple of their tracks and to their Facebook page. They've also supplied me with these images as examples of the kind of imagery that they're drawn to. Beginning with pencil sketches to clarify my thoughts and get my ideas flowing, I'll work up three different logo ideas from which the client will choose one and then I'll refine this further into the finished version.
