- [Illustrator] Now, one of the things you have to keep in mind about swatches inside Illustrator is that they're stored locally. So in other words, they're saved along with the active document and they don't automatically transfer from one open document to another. So for example, if I was to go up to the file menu and choose the new command and then switch over to the print panel, which will set my color mode to CMYK, after which point I'll click the create button, you can see that I've got all of my default CMYK swatches, but I have none of those swatches that I worked so hard on inside of the calendar document. By the same token, the calendar document doesn't contain any of the default CMYK colors. So what do I do if I want to bring in more swatches? Well, in that case, you want to click on this little library icon in the bottom left corner of the swatches panel to bring up a long list of pre-defined swatch libraries…
