- [Tam] Thanks for learning with me. Now that you've got a better understanding of how to prepare files for laser cutting and account for manufacturing limits, it's time to start designing on your own. Think of the projects you want to cut and explore the tools and techniques I've shown you. Try graphic design programs like Inkscape and GIMP if you want a free place to start. As you're preparing more files for laser cutting, you could find additional 3D resources online at websites like grabcad.com and Thingiverse, but there are many others. There are free 3D modeling programs like Meshmixer and SketchUp if you're interested in creating your own shapes to cut. If you're interested in learning more about advanced manufacturing techniques, check out our library for more courses on rapid manufacturing. You'll find laser cutting can be a lot of fun, especially if you've already set yourself up for success. See you next time, laser cats.
