The Properties panel

- [Instructor] Because there are so many panels in Illustrator, the Illustrator team have tried to help us to be more efficient with our screen real estate, and that is realized in the Properties panel. So rather than having a whole bunch of panels open, this context-sensitive panel will change depending on what you're doing. Now, it isn't complete yet nor is it a replacement for all of the other panels, and probably won't be for quite a long time, but it does keep changing. It is a step in the right direction. And it's this panel we'll probably refer to more than any of the others. Now, at the moment, with nothing active and nothing selected, it just tells us about the document. And here, we can do things such as set our ruler units here and edit the artboards that we've got and turn on various different things underneath it.
