- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll practice saving Illustrator documents in file formats appropriate for screen use and professional print projects. Let's start with print. In many cases, saving in native AI format will be fine for print projects as long as you select the option to include a PDF compatible file. This option is turned on by default, and it makes it possible to place an Illustrator file into a layout program like InDesign or to open the file with Adobe Acrobat. To see that option, I'll choose File, Save a Copy, and save in native Illustrator format. I'll select the desktop, and click Save, and here's the option, Create PDF Compatible File. So remember, you almost always want to leave this turned on. For some jobs, you might be asked to provide a PDF file made with specific settings. If that's the case, again, I'll choose File, Save a Copy, I'll put it on the desktop, and this time the format will be PDF. I'll call it Label PDF, and click Save, and now I can choose from…
