- [Instructor] When you're designing icons, it's really important to know for which output channel the icons will be designed. This could be a print project. This could be a web project or maybe for a mobile application. And of course you can use the icon for both the web or print. But if you know the output beforehand, I do recommend that you try and optimize the icon as much as possible using Adobe Illustrator. in this video, I'll highlight just a few of the differences between web and print icons. And we'll dive deeper into these settings, later in this course. Here inside of Adobe Illustrator, I have multiple documents open, and I'm going to start out here with this document, print.ai. Now this document is clearly set to CMYK print colors. And when I select an object, you can see that the unit of measurement is set to inches.
