Selective unlock
- [Instructor] When you're working on larger and more complex illustrations or documents, locking items is really sensible because that way you're not going to accidentally delete or move something that's important or that you need. It's pretty easy to do. You can either go up to the Object menu at the top and choose to lock your selection and you can see there's even a shortcut there to do it, Command-two or Control-two. You can right-click to unlock that particular group as well. Okay, and I can lock this item just here. So pretty much I think everything there apart from the blue house is locked at the current time so I can't select them. Well, unlocking is not so easy. You can right-click, not always convenient because some of the objects may not be as big as these groups. And in the Object menu, you've only got the choice to unlock all. Now, you can of course navigate the Layers panel and selectively unlock things…
