Separating multiple artboards
- [Instructor] Let's say that you like to use Illustrator not only as a design application but also as a storyboard tool. This means that like me, you're probably building the entire movie in one document, splitting each composition to its own artboard. Then when it comes time to animate it inside After Effects, you need to separate each one of the artboards to a different document. Why? Because as things stands now, After Effects can only work with one artboard at a time. Now of course you can use a second artboard for elements that goes beyond the boundary of the first one as we saw in a pervious movie but that's about it. So, if you need to separate multiple artboards, here is how to do it. I'm going to use this document which is part of the Social Tech project that I was mentioning in a previous movie and in order to split it to three different artboards, I'm going to go to the File menu and choose the Save As command.
