- [Instructor] As mentioned earlier in this course, I do highly recommend that you try and sketch out your icons before you start designing them in Adobe Illustrator. It's just a way to get your thoughts on paper before you start to visualize anything in the program, because I tend to get lost if I look at a blank art board inside of Adobe Illustrator. Now there are a variety of ways to do this. I know this is a very personal process. For me personally, I like to have a sketch book with me. I have a regular one that comes with blank paper and I have another one with dotted paper and I just use pencils and rulers and Sharpies and whatever I can just get my hands on. Now, if you want to use something to help you then I've actually prepared these three pages here for you.
