Slicing type

- [Instructor] Here is the technique for slicing type using clipping masks. My type is Modula OT sans, and this is available on Adobe Fonts. What I want to do is draw myself a series of rectangles over my type, and I want each rectangle to divide a letter in two. So that I can more easily see what I'm doing, I'm going to reduce the opacity on that and I'll also just come and change its color. So now that I have one rectangle, I will duplicate it and then drag the copy to its right, resize it so that it dissects the next letter. And then just repeat that process until I fill my art board. Now let's come and take a look at the Layers panel. I'll select my layer of type at bottom and duplicate this. Now tapping on the layer thumbnail, I'm going to select alternate rectangles.
