- [Instructor] The layers panel can also help you with selection and it's really useful, that, in complex layouts. If I go to layers panel just here, you would be forgiven for not noticing this particular option because my one big criticism of Illustrator is there's no indication that the area beyond the layer target is available for you to select content. Let me show you what actually happens here. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to unlock and twirl open this type layer which has three type groups on it or they're actually shapes, they're not actually type, but here you can see this identification number and this entitling across the top there and this number here. Now, for the sake of demonstration, this is very simple, but it could be something that is much more complicated, like this one just here where I can get to individual lines and parse inside one of the saucer drawings on the front here.
