Type and gradient

- [Instructor] Let's see how we can work with gradients and type. I'll select my type. The font is Gin, available on Adobe fonts. If I come to my colors, there's no option at the top here to apply a gradient directly to this. But it is possible, here's how we do it. I'm going to draw myself a shape above the type, return to my colors and I can now apply a gradient to that shape. It can be a linear, a radial or a free-form gradient. I'm going to go with a linear gradient. I'd like to change its angle and I'm going to go from black to red. Before I apply this to the type, let me just point out a problem that we see here. The black that I have chosen and I'm using my CMYK sliders, although I could do this as gray scale, hex, HSB or RGB. The black that I'm using is a single color black and to get to red, it has to transition through lots of murky grays. So this is not a very attractive looking gradient. To…
