Understanding digital image terminology

- [Instructor] The ACA exam will test your understanding so let's review some key terms. First, we'll talk about two basic types of digital images, Raster refers to the kind of digital images When you're working with pixel-based images in Photoshop, you're working with raster images. And raster images have resolution. Resolution is a measure of the density of pixels in a raster image. So an image that had a resolution of 600 pixels per inch would have a high density of pixels, than, say, an image that had a resolution of 60 pixels per inch, So we say that raster images are resolution dependent. It doesn't matter how large or small you scale them, There's also the term rasterize, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and PSD, so people often say bitmap objects or bitmap images to mean any kind of raster image. But there are also some specific meanings. in Photoshop called Bitmap for raster images. This refers to how much information is contained in each pixel. so it's either black or white. These kind…
