Use advanced controls for width markers
- Version two of Astute Graphics with scribe adds new advanced features for working with variable stroke widths in Illustrator. Using the width selector tool and panel, let's check it out. I'll start by opening the width selector panel. By choosing window, width scribe, width selector panel, I can click the panel to switch to the width selector tool. And now I can see all the width markers along my paths. Each one controls the width of the stroke at that point along the path. To access the advanced controls in the panel, I'll go to the panel menu and choose display left/right widths. And I can select one of my width markers. I'll just choose this one up here at the top. And I can see that this stroke width, at one point, is split evenly on either side of the path, and they're linked. So if I increase one, the other will increase by the same amount. And the same goes, if I decrease, but I can also click the chain…
