Using Adobe Fonts on the iPad

- [Instructor] Before we start designing, just a few words about installing fonts. I've come to the Properties panel and to my Font list. The Font list shows all of those fonts that you have activated through Adobe Fonts, as well as fonts that you have installed on your iPad. If you come to the Search field, you can search the entire catalog of Adobe Fonts and auto install. Down at the bottom of the fonts list, there is an option More Fonts, where we can browse by these tags. What you won't see there is the ability to filter based upon classification or properties. But you will see that in the Creative Cloud app. Here I am in Creative Cloud and I'm in the Fonts section. And I can filter my fonts. Let's say I'm after a serif font that is good for headings and is bold. Then I can choose from this short list. Any fonts I activate here will be available to me in Illustrator for iPad. Also here, we see the fonts active on this device. So this reflects all of those fonts that I have activated through Adobe Fonts. And these are some I've activated in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, et cetera. They're all available to me in the iPad version of Illustrator. We also see previously installed fonts. And these are fonts that I've actively installed. They've currently become uninstalled, but I can reinstall them. And the difference here is that if I'm working offline, then these fonts will be available to me. I can also install my own fonts that are not on Adobe Fonts. I can do this through the Creative Cloud desktop app or I can do it directly here in Illustrator by clicking on this plus, Add More, and then I just navigate to where the fonts are on my hard drive. Here I can activate the font. I acknowledge that I have the rights to use the font. And then I can search for it and apply it to my selected text.
