Using Image Trace

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll go over how to use the image trace features in Illustrator. These features allow you to create all kinds of interesting effects by creating a vector version of a raster image by tracing it. And there are many options for the image trace. For the ACA exam, you just need to be aware of the general process. In our file, we have this placed photo of a sleeping dog, and if I select it, I can click the Image Trace button to start the tracing immediately, or I can click the small arrow to select a preset option like High Fidelity Photo, which will produce a very complex vector version that looks almost identical to the photo. It's only when you zoom way in that you can see the posterized look of the vector artwork. I'll zoom back out to see the whole dog. And I can experiment with other presets, like Low Fidelity Photo, or 3 Colors, 6 Colors, and so on.
