Using the Pen tool

- [Instructor] Illustrator has been around for more than 30 years and has added many tools and features in that time. But at its core, it's a program for drawing with vectors and in this movie we'll take a look at how to draw vectors with the pen tool. In the file for this movie we have a few simple vector objects that you can trace to practice working with the pen tool and to make things easier make sure that smart guides and all the snapping options are turned off. Then I'll start by zooming in on the house and taking the pen tool. And before I start drawing I'll make sure that in the Tools panel that I'm drawing paths with no fill and a black stroke. So let's change that fill to None. And first, let's go over some vector vocabulary. Vectors are mathematical objects that describe two dimensional shapes.
