Using the Polar Grid tool - Illustrator Tutorial
From the course: Illustrator One-on-One: Fundamentals
Using the Polar Grid tool
- [Instructor] Next we have the two grid tools here, rectangular and polar. We're going to start off with the polar grid tool which allows you to draw lines in concentric rings. And to see what that looks like, I'll go ahead and click on this tool here inside my little floating panel. If you're not seeing a floating panel on screen, then you click and hold on whatever tool is occupying this slot and you choose the polar grid tool from the fly out menu. And I'll just go ahead and drag with the tool and notice that it's creating concentric rings as well as these radio lines. So you end up with kind of a sonar pattern that is ultimately expressed as a group incidentally. So these are a bunch of shapes and lines grouped together and you can tell it's a group by the appearance of the word group on the far left side of the control panel. I'm going to get rid of that guy by pressing the Backspace key or the Delete key on the Mac…
