Using area type

- [Instructor] Back in our poster, we are now ready to start adding some text. What we're going to do is we're going to go to our layers panel first, and we're going to lock this divide a layer. It doesn't have any impact on the file for the number of layers you add an illustrator, it really doesn't, not like Photoshop, very different. So we'll go down to the plus here and create a new layer, okay? And we're going to call this type, this particular layer. And then we've got some text which we can use. There's a text file in the exercise files. Although of course, if you want to, you can type anything of your own, which we can then copy that text out, come back into illustrator, and what we're going to do first of all, is an exercise so you understand the two different coins of type that exist in illustrator.
