Using masks effectively: Part 2
- So, once again, to demonstrate a different type of masking, I'm going to utilize a different illustration altogether. And this wasn't a client project. This is just one I created to demonstrate this specific type of mask but once again, I'm recruiting somebody from my asset library and they're getting recruited into Star Fleet Academy and I wanna walk you through how I used isometric projection to not only create the environment but then utilize a different form of masking, in this case, opacity mask to pull off a certain effect. I'll also walk you through a couple other effects to pull off the final illustration here but once again, it all starts in 2D. So, I'm creating, basically, a teleportation pad for this red suit to be able to teleport off the ship and this is how I created it. So, once again, much easier to create in flat 2D on something like this than trying to do it on the fly in isometric projection.
