Using tints

- [Instructor] Some forms of printing are really expensive and so usually for reasons of economy, the number of inks used can be reduced and whole schemes have developed to make that happen. So looking at the art board in front of you, how many colors do we actually have here? Well, the answer is actually two and what I'm going to do is just jump out and show you a preview of the file and you'll see there that there are actually only two colors and even if that baffles you, it's because they are using tints. Now you can use tints for spot colors and global swatches, it's supported for both in Illustrator. Just in case you're wondering about the black here, by the way, that's emulating the substrate of a t-shirt and I've made that happen by turning this layer into a non-printing layer, which is something you can do. If I turn it off, there you go, there's the actual work itself. So let's have a look at the colors here…
