Welcome to the interface

- In this movie, I'll introduce you to Illustrator's default interface, which includes a vertical toolbox over here on the left hand side of the screen, a standard menu bar along the top of the screen, and a handful of larger panels on the right side. In the center we're seeing the document window, which is where you do all of your work inside Illustrator. And so notice this white region that's surrounded by a black outline. That is the art board itself, which you can think of as either a page if you'd like or a kind of rectangular work surface that can be any size you'd like. This red boundary right here is the bleed, which allows you to perform borderless printing, but it also gives you wiggle room for whatever you'd like. And so generally if you're creating a background item, you want it to extend all the way to this red bleed boundary and we'll see what that looks like in future movies. This gray area right here…
