- [Tony] Partly for reasons of cost and control, but also for agility, it seems that the number of brands and companies bringing design in-house is on the increase. And that may mean anything from a dedicated department through to a small team or even a lone individual acting, as we would say in the U.K. at least, as chief cook and bottle washer, which basically means the buck starts and stops with you. Working in-house will present you with a number of challenges, but if you rise to them, you'll be a stronger and more valuable asset to the organization you work with and to future opportunities in your career. Personally, I've had a few stints in-house at various points in my own career and also worked as a workflow consultant with small to medium businesses and enterprise design teams, so I'm quite familiar with many of the things you'll be coming up against. This course, along with its companion dealing with Photoshop, have been designed for you and primarily are there to arm you for some application-specific skills and concepts that you may not have been trained for previously. It's all been built around your most precious resource, time, and so the movies are all easily digestible in small chunks. Some of the topics, though, will require a little deeper investigation, and you can do that right here at a later time. But at least you'll be aware of the actual topic in the first place, which of course is very important. You'll learn about best practices with developing workflows in Adobe's Creative Cloud, and also I'll be giving you some suggestions for time-saving Illustrator add-ins that will help you get things done even quicker.
