- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll see what you need to know about working with clipping masks and opacity masks for the ACA exam. In our file we have an example of a clipping mask. This world map is filled with these various colored shapes because it was made into a clipping mask, and if I go to the layers panel, and hide the mask here, you can see the original object. I'll click again to show the mask. Now the mask was created by putting the vector object of the world map on top of the group of colorful shapes, and then going to object and choosing clipping mask,... make. And in this way you can use just about any vector shape to mask or clip others. The other kind of mask is an opacity mask, and it differs from a clipping mask in that an opacity mask can make things partially visible, while a clipping mask is an all or nothing kind of thing.
