244 Format the first line of a paragraph with Line Styles

- [Voiceover] Most users don't realize that InDesign lets you apply formatting to the first line of any paragraph. I'm not talking about the first character. You might use a drop cap for that, or the first word or sentence, for which you'd probably use nested styles. I mean literally the first line. For example, you might want to apply small caps just to the first line of the first paragraph of this story. Or maybe you'd wanna make the first four lines of a magazine article bold. The trick to doing this is to use line styles, and the line styles feature is hiding inside the drop caps and nested styles dialogue box. You can find that by placing your cursor inside the paragraph, I'll just double click to place the cursor right there, and then I'll go to the control panel flyout menu, which is way over here in the upper right corner of the screen. Inside this popup menu is the drop caps and nested styles feature. You can also find this feature inside the paragraph panel menu. However…
