- [Voiceover] There is no doubt that spot colors can help you achieve striking, effective designs. Now I should say if you don't understand the important difference between spot colors and process colors, then please go check out my title here in the online training library called InDesign Insider Training Color, but if you already know how to use spot colors, then keep watching, because spot colors have a dark underside. A not so obvious behavior that needs to be understood or else it can bite you. Now case in point, look at this beautiful artwork. Well, okay, maybe it is not that beautiful, but it gets the point across for this demo. This is made from three frames that are overlapping, and they're all the same color. This one back here actually has a tint applied to it, so it's lighter, but all three of them are the same spot color. Now you can see that in the middle here, some of the areas are darker.
