- [Instructor] Wouldn't it be nice if you could have InDesign do something automatically for you that would help your workflow? For example, go ahead and apply a timestamp somewhere so that whenever you printed this out or exported it to PDF, you would see in front of you what was the date that this proof was output or was last modified. And of course, you don't want it to appear on top of any content. You'd want it to appear on the side. But you can't print the pasteboard, can you? Yes, you can. And you can have InDesign automatically populate that area with a timestamp, so I'll show you how to do it. What we're going to do is add a slug. You already know what a bleed guide is, that's that red line going around pages. But you can also add a slug which extends into the pasteboard on one or two or all four sides. And then anything that you put inside that slug area you can optionally include when you export to PDF…
