Choosing the fonts
- [Narrator] Before we move on to formatting the type, I would just like to make some suggestions for choosing your type. Firstly, there's no such thing as good or bad fonts, just appropriate fonts for different situations. In this scenario, we want a font that is first and foremost readable. It should convey the information efficiently then get out of the way without calling attention to itself. If 99% of the readers of our brochure can easily digest the information but don't really notice the typography then we've done a good job. Of course, readable is a very broad and subjective term, and there are thousands of fonts that fit that description so much comes down to personal choice. Here are some websites that may help you drill down to that choice. Typewolf.com features some very interesting and useful top 10 lists, top 10 serif fonts, slab serifs, top 10 humanist Sans serifs.
