Considerations for digital printing

- [Instructor] Digital printing offers quality with digital flexibility. For example, affordable short runs and variable data and one-to-one personalization. You can change out more than just the address. You can even change out images from impression to impression. Some digital presses offer inline binding options, but digital presses, most importantly I think, offer a wider color gamut than offset process inks. And that means that you might get good rendering of spot colors, even though the press doesn't have a spot ink. Now, one of the things you have to think about is the slight limitation to stock sizes that are available for digital presses. And there are some limitations on stock types. You need a stock type that behaves on a digital press. And presses require controlled environments. Embossing and die cutting aren't something that you can do on a digital press. And so those processes are going to be performed…
