Creating a Photoshop clipping path
- There are occasions where you only need the portion of an image to be visible when placing into Adobe InDesign, and despite various techniques being available for this today, nothing beats a good ole Photoshop clipping path. So let's dive in. I'm here inside of Adobe Photoshop where I'm currently preparing this image, making it ready to be place into Adobe InDesign. So what I've done beforehand, is I've used the pen tool to draw a path around this bowl here, and as you can see here, I saved the path here inside of this tab. Now the idea is very simple. What I can do is, I can convert this regular path into a clipping path. Now how does this work? Now first of all, you just click the Bowl path, click the Panel menu, and then choose Clipping Path. Now from these options here, I have to choose which of my paths I would like to convert. Now of course I only have one path available, so obviously, I will choose…
