Creating character styles

- [Instructor] In this document, we're going to work with character styles, that if need be, sync the fonts to Typekit, just so you aren't missing any fonts as we work through this. And before we get started, I want to make sure you understand the distinction between paragraph styles and character styles. Now paragraph styles, the name kind of gives it away. You apply paragraph styles to entire paragraphs. And a paragraph style can include what font is being used, space before, space after, is there an indent in the first line of the paragraph? Is it justified or is it left justified with a ragged right end? Character styles, I want you to think of them as like a little second coat of paint, as just little accents. Because you use character styles just on little bits of text. You never apply a character style to an entire paragraph. And that's again because it's sort of like that second coat of paint.
