- This is going to be a pretty quick, yet important, tip. I want to show you my surefire way of creating and modifying styles in InDesign. So the first thing I want to show you is if you go ahead and click within some text, I'm going to go ahead and open up my paragraph styles panel. Although keep in mind what I'm going to show you applies to character styles, object styles, table styles, you name it, and what it is I wanted to show you is what a lot of people will do is when they want to create a new style, the key is you want to click within the text that you want to create a style from, because that way it's going to basically suck in all the properties and save it in the style. But what a lot of people will do is they'll come over here and click on the plus sign to create a new style, or they'll click on the panel menu and choose new paragraph style, now those two methods are very similar but they don't do the…
