Creating a paragraph style
- [Instructor] Styles provide a way to consistently format text in a document. Choose Type, Show Hidden Characters to be able to see where one paragraph ends and another begins. Using the Type tool, click within the Pittinger Gallery text to make that the active paragraph. When you create a style, it will inherit the formatting of the text that you're clicked inside of. In the Properties panel, click on the Style menu and choose Manage Styles from the list. This'll display the Paragraph Styles panel. Hold down the Alt or Option key on your keyboard and click the Create New Style button. Holding down the Alt or Option key allows you to provide a name for the style. For the Style Name, type Subhead, and make sure that Apply Style to Selection is enabled. Click OK, and now notice that Subhead is the style applied to that text. Click in the Roux Academy text and repeat the process to create another style called Body, and click OK.
