Creating paragraph styles
- [Instructor] There are two reasons to apply nice formatting to your text. The first one, most obvious reason, is that you want your text to look nice, but the second reason, and it's equally important, maybe more important, is that correct formatting leads to easy readability. You want the reader to be able to make sense of what you're presenting to them. And the best way to ensure consistency, and frankly, make your life easier, is to use paragraph styles. Now, some people cringe when I say that. They resolve, no, I'm just going to manually format my text. I'm going to show you that paragraph styles are really easy to create and they're easy to manage, and they're going to make your life so much easier. So let me show you what I mean. Here's why I think people get intimated by the notion of paragraph styles. Open up your Paragraph Styles panel, and the Basic Paragraph style is chosen.
