Embossing
- [Narrator] Embossing is the process of molding paper using two dyes, a positive convex dye to push the paper out, and a concave counter dye, which serves as the mold the paper is pressed into. Embossing adds depth and texture to a printed piece, as you can see here. But because creating embossing dyes is a precise and time-consuming process, be aware that you should supply the artwork to the dyemaker well in advance of the print job to allow the craftsman time to create the working dyes that will add elegance to the piece.
