- [Instructor] Now let's take a close look at getting your eBook ready for the Kindle. I focus on the Kindle in this video and the next one, simply because it has such a huge market share. Here is a graphic that I just grabbed, and if you go to authorearnings.com, you'll probably find some more statistics, it's an excellent website. But just to show you how much of the pie does Amazon have as far as eBooks are concerned. Look at this. They have close to 85% of the market as of February 2017, which is over a year ago now. And Apple, and Barnes and Noble, have very small amounts comparatively speaking. And you can imagine that Kobo and other E-Resalers have even smaller amounts. So Amazon is obviously the Big Kahuna, and what is kinda aggravating, especially for this course, is that InDesign does not have a way to export to Kindle format. They won't do it. We have asked them over and over to please add an export to Kindle, because Kindles do not use EPUBs. Kindles use their own…
