- Understanding how InDesign defaults work can be the difference between fluently working on a document and being incredibly frustrated. InDesign default can save you a lot of time as long as you understand how they work. Let's take a closer look. Now I'm beginning this video on the center page of the first spread. And on this page I want to add the address of the company. So what I'm going to do is using my type tool. I'm just going to click and drag to draw a text frame. It goes all the way across the page. And I want to make sure I format it in the appropriate style, so If I go to my paragraphs styles panel, under the back cover group I'm going to choose "Back Address". Now, to show you this real quickly I'm just going to edit Back Address to show you that the way that it's defined is using a font called "Filson Soft" in the style of light and the size of ten and a half over twelve and a half.
