InDesign's mysterious default Color Settings

- Every InDesign document has its own document profile. Technically, it has two profiles, one for RGB and one for CMYK. And the logical place to look for those profiles is to go to the Edit menu and then scroll down until you see Color Settings. But the funny thing is that this dialogue box actually won't change the settings for the opened document back here. This is widely misunderstood. You see in InDesign, the Color Settings dialogue box only sets up your preferences for new documents that you create after you click OK. It will not change any documents you've already made, including the one back here. This is really important. I'll talk about how to change documents that you've already made later on this chapter. But let's go ahead and start here in the Color Settings dialogue box because, well, you want your future documents to be setup correctly, right?
