Paragraph rules and shading

- [Instructor] When you want to indicate to a reader that there's a subject change in the flow of text, you use a subhead. For example, Perennials, Ground Cover, Wildflowers. When the reader looks at this page, they immediately know that these topics are being covered. They look at the subhead Wildflowers and they assume that the text right after it must be pertaining to wildflowers. If you'd like to be more emphatic about your subheads, it might be sort of fun to draw a line underneath them. Now, you could use your Line Tool and draw it, but if you have to edit your text then you have to move the line. Much cooler way to do this is to use Paragraph Rules. So, get your Zoom Tool and zoom in on about the middle of this page, so things are just a little bigger, easier to see. And I'm going to show you how to create Paragraph Rules and I want you to see some of the neat options that they give you. So, get your Type Tool, click in Ground Cover and then, go over to the Paragraph Styles…
