- [Narrator] You've done a lot of prep work up until now, so the file should be ready to be released to the printer. As long as you've been working with a printer from the very beginning, and you have followed all of their specifications, this should be a pretty straightforward handoff. Before the final handoff, there are several things you will have to check in your files to make sure everything is clean and ready to go per their specifications. Color in your files that are not used will have to be removed. Now is the time to clean it up. You can go to your color swatches icon, then to the sub-menu on the top right, and choose select all unused. What this will do is remove all the color that you are not using in the file. This helps make sure there is no extra color that will cause confusion. Next, make sure that if you're using PMS or Pantone colors, that your swatches are correct. Make sure that those same PMS spot colors that need to be switched over to CMYK have been switched…
