Search for inspiration
- [Instructor] The most challenging but also perhaps the most satisfying part of designing a logo is the search for inspiration. You should put yourself in your customers' position. What's important to them? Begin with a mind map. Write down a word suggested by your brand and then branch out from it, writing down other words that spring to mind until you end up with a thought cloud. Now move onto sketching. Resist the temptation to go straight to the computer. Instead, sit down with pencil and paper. This essential step is about getting down as many ideas as possible. And you can do that more fluidly with pencil and paper. The sketches don't need to be refined. So don't spend too long on any one. And don't judge yourself. Even a bad idea can spark a conversation that leads to a good solution. And very important, your sketches are for your eyes only, not to be shared with your client. Fill up as many sheets as you can…
