Using Gridify
- Gridify has been around for several versions of InDesign now. Gridify allows you to draw or copy objects in a grid, which gives you a lot of control when you need objects aligned in a grid. Now for this video I'm just going to create a new blank document. So I'm going to go ahead and click the create new button and I'm just going to go ahead and create an eight and a half by 11 document with no facing pages, and I'll just go ahead and click on the create button. Now the Gridify feature works with pretty much any of the shape tools, so any of the frame tools and even the line tool. Now the way that the Gridify feature works is if you click and drag to start drawing a frame, with your mouse button still held down and the frame drawing still active, if you tap the right arrow key on your keyboard it's going to divide the frame into two columns.
