Using math in InDesign fields

- [Anne-Marie] Have you ever been working in InDesign and realized you needed to come up with a quick calculation? So you find a local Post-it Note or a pad of paper and you start adding things up and then you copy the number that you came up with into a field. If so you're doing it wrong. I mean, you need to stop and say, "Hey, I'm using a computer that cost thousands of dollars. "I believe it knows how to do calculations." And indeed it usually does. I'm not saying find the calculator app on your computer. Instead, InDesign itself can do the math for you in many cases right inside the fields. Any field that has a number in it can have math applied, addition, subtraction, division, or multiplication. For example, let's say that we're working on this one-page flyer, let me zoom in a bit to this top logo, and our client says, "Can you move that 1/4 of an inch "over to the right?"
