Using text wraps with grids - InDesign Tutorial
From the course: Designing with Grids in InDesign
Using text wraps with grids
This movie is the first of several in which I will be talking about grid related tools. These are all InDesign features and conventions that I find allow you to work more efficiently with grids. Firstly, I'd like to talk about text wraps. Point number one about text wraps is that I find they work best if you can separate your picture and your text content by layer. You can see that here I have my pictures on one layer, which I'll hide and my text on another. And, I'm overlapping the pictures with the text frame. This text frame starts at the top margin, and this text frame goes all the way down to the bottom margin. It is the text wrap on the picture that causes the text to be moved out of the way of the picture. And the benefit of this, is that should we need to reconfigure our layout, let's say I want to rescale this image, I'll turn on my guides by pressing W. Then I can just change the size of the image and that will move the text out of it's way. So we only need to make one move…
