Using a web press for long runs
- [Instructor] Web offset presses are used for high quality long runs and they may include inline finishing. Web offset presses are used because of their high speed and that's why they're used for long runs such as publications or textbooks or newspapers. Some web offset presses include inline folding of signatures. A signature is just the printed paper that contains multiple pages that all belong together for final binding. Some web offset presses include inline gluing and other applications. For example, perfume samples. If you've used one of those perfume samples out of a magazine, that was created on a web offset press and that perfume sample is applied inline right on the press. It makes the press room smell really good. It can print both sides of the paper simultaneously if it's what's called a perfecting press.
