What you should know

- [Instructor] To take this course, what do you need to know? Just a couple things. First, since you're watching a new features course, I'd assume you have some familiarity within design, even just a beginner level, that's all. And the other thing to know, is that I've changed the default settings for the background shade of InDesign and the workspace. I don't really like working in the default dark background. I find it easier to read if it's lightened up. And I think it's easier for learners to focus on too. You can do that if you want, by going to InDesign's preferences pin, choosing interface, and in the top color theme area, select a lighter appearance. In some videos, I compare something in InDesign, 2021, to previous versions of InDesign. And in those cases, I kept the default dark interface for the earlier version to help you tell the difference. The other thing that I did was I changed the default workspace from essentials to advanced because we're all advanced, right? And I use a number of panels there that just aren't available in these central's workspace. If you want to switch to the same workspace that I'm using, just select advanced from the Window, workspace menu.
