- [Instructor] I was investigating a client's InDesign file that they sent me because they're having some problems with their paragraph styles. And while I was zoomed in, this is not their document, but it shows you the problem. I noticed that the texts looked a little off to me, and looked a little clunky. And then I realized what it was. They didn't have standard ligatures turned on. Do you see how the Fs and the dot on the I? Let's zoom in a bit more. They kind of get really close and they they touch each other. They look a little clunky. And I asked them, I call them up and said, why are there new ligatures turned on? And they had no clue what I was talking about. They didn't even realize it was turned off or that it's on by default. And let me show you when it's on by default. I have a new untitled document here.
