The internal structure of an EPUB

- [Instructor] In EPUB is actually a set of rules about the structure of the components inside of an EPUB document. Does it have to have a publisher? How is the date supposed to be formatted? How are the chapters set up? And the rules are set up these days by the World Wide Web Consortium or W3C for short but they're still using the rules originally developed for EPUB 3 back in 2011 by the International Digital Publishing Forum, IDPF.org. You can see here that earlier in 2017, they combined with W3C but there's still some very good information here like the logo if you ever want to grab the EPUB logo. That is useful to understand what exactly is EPUB 3 all about and if you are ever in the need to edit the components of you EPUB 3 which we'll look at in a minute, these are the rules you need to go by, especially this one right here, the EPUB 3 Overview which was written in 2014.
