- [Instructor] As the world becomes more urban and more housing developments are needed, being able to persuade people at the conceptual phase, as we are here, is often cheaper and quicker than getting halfway through the planning process, and then having to go to public consultation. So, for example, what if someone was worried that our new development was going to mean that his garden was permanently in shadow. You know, this is the type of thing that people do worry about and it is very, very important for developers to be able to simulate and show people that their development is going to cause minimal intrusion into the existing environment. We're at bookmark number nine, residential development. I'd like you to go to bookmark number 12, grumpy neighbor. So we have our grumpy neighbor here who is worried that these buildings are going to be casting shadow into his garden and into his windows all the time.
