Create share views

- [Instructor] Shared Views is a great way to share a 3D model to your client or other design teams. So if we go up to the utility bar, there's a little button right here, it says Shared Views. If we click it, we're going to create a New Shared View, say New Shared View. This is the actual name. You can change the name. You can change the actual how much you want to share. Maybe you just want to share a portion of the model or the complete model, so I'm going to say Use Entire Model. Which bookmarks? I don't want any bookmarks or any properties. I just want to share the actual model. I'm going to set this as the actual Home Position. I'm going to click Share. It's going to actually process the model and create a hyperlink that I can share to other design teams, clients, or even city officials. Once it's complete, a little dialogue box appears, says Create Shared View, it's been created. Here's the hyperlink. I can say Copy. I can now copy this. It's actually copied to the clipboard and pasted through an email. Or I can view it in the browser, so I'm going to click the browser now. And what's going to actually going to do, it's going to open the model, that shared view, within our Desk Viewer. It's actually a free viewer within the browser. It's processing bringing in the materials. And the first thing you may notice is you don't get the exact same resolution in the free viewer versus the InfraWorks model application. But let's go look at our model here. I zoom in. As a default, you might notice that the panning and orbiting around the free viewer is actually slightly different than InfraWorks. But you can go into the actual settings, and change the navigation. Pivoting, reverse mouse, I'm going to switch that so it matches the zooming and panning of my InfraWorks. As you can see here, we've actually shared a model out. Now other design teams can comment on this model, and once they comment and post, I'll be able to see that post within here. Here's the actual Shared View I did post and share. I can click on it. Now it goes straight to the AutoDesk Viewer. If I close it, I can actually create another one by coming here. Here's the one that was created. It does expire in 30 days. It's only a quick little view. But you can extend it through your application here in InfraWorks. So, here I can say, Extend, and I can extend the date. I can View in browser, I can Copy the link and paste it into other applications, like an email or instant messenger. I can view the Titles or Expiration dates. So this is a really great collaboration tool to show maybe multiple phases or proposals to your client that doesn't have any kind of AutoDesk products.
